1st and 2nd year students of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources visited one of the largest enterprises of the agro-industrial holding "AGRICO" - LLC "Agrofirm "Zolotaya Niva". The main activity of the company is the production of agricultural products. More than 100 thousand hectares of land are cultivated in 8 districts of the Stavropol Territory: Grachevsky, Izobilnensky, Krasnogvardeysky, Ipatovsky, Novoaleksandrovsky, Foothill, Trunovsky, Turkmen. The average annual volume of commercial products produced is 380,000 tons. The company has the necessary infrastructure for storing grain and vegetables.
The event was organized as part of the practice-oriented training of students with the support of the Rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University and Dean of the Faculty of Agrobiology and Land Resources, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Nikolaevich Yesaulko.
The trip took place under the guidance of the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor of the Department of Agrochemistry and Plant Physiology Alyona Yuryevna Ozheredova, Associate Professor of the Department of Agrochemistry and Plant Physiology Natalia Viktorovna Gromova and Technician, 2nd year graduate student Yulia Nikolaevna Kuzminova.
The tour began on the territory of department No. 4 with the acquaintance of students with the executive director of LLC "Zolotaya Niva" Gennady Viktorovich Derevyanko and the chief agronomist Alexander Dmitrievich Bondar. They said that cereals, legumes, technical and vegetable crops are grown on the territory of the farm with an area of 12,000 hectares. Alexander Dmitrievich presented fields with winter rapeseed, told about the vegetation of the crop and the processing of cash.
Nikolay Nikolaevich Zhernovoy, senior agronomist for vegetable crops of Department No. 4, told about the peculiarities of potato production. Students were given a unique opportunity to visually get acquainted with the technological operation of planting potatoes right in the field. The farm uses high-quality seed material of reference potato varieties, which is grown in an irrigated area. The guides in the field demonstrated in detail the operation of an automated irrigation system (T-L Irrigation), which provides the soil with the amount of moisture necessary for growing high yields of potatoes.
After a delicious lunch at the enterprise, the excursion was continued by a trip to the vegetable storage, which was presented by the manager of department No. 12 Alexey Yurievich Podkolzin. One of the largest vegetable storage facilities in Stavropol with a production capacity of 35,000 tons is equipped with lines for processing, sorting, washing and packaging of vegetable products. It is noteworthy that Alexey Yurievich himself went through the entire career path from an ordinary trainee agronomist to chief agronomist, and later took the position of head of the vegetable storage. A worthy example for future farmers! The head of the production sites, Mikhail Mikhailovich Nikulin, told about the features of technological operations at a modern vegetable storehouse.
At the end of the tour, the students thanked all the employees and heads of production departments of Zolotaya Niva LLC for the high level of organization of the event. The guys were interested in passing a technological internship with subsequent employment at the enterprise. Oleg Yuryevich Kovalenko, one of the organizers of the trip, the deputy head of the recruitment service of AGRICO LLC, told in detail about all the conditions of employment.
