British publication Times Higher Education has published a new edition of THE University Impact Rankings (https://www.timeshighereducation.com/rankings/impact/2022/overall#!/page/3/length/25/locations/RUS/sort_by/rank/sort_order/asc/cols/undefined).
The THE University Impact Rankings are dedicated to assessing the impact of universities on the implementation of the 2030 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).
In order to participate in the general THE University Impact Rankings, each university had to present its best practices on SDG-17 - Partnership for Sustainable Development and on 4 more out of 17 UN SDGs of its choice.
The Stavropol State Agrarian University presented its experience on such SDGs:
SDG 4 - Quality Education.
SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth
SDG 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities
SDG 15 - Living on Land SDG 17 - Partnerships to Achieve Goals.
THE University Impact Rankings 2022 brings together 1,406 universities from 106 countries/regions.
According to the results of participation Stavropol State Agrarian University for the first time in its history entered the list of universities participating in this ranking and was placed in the category 1001+ among 1406 universities in the world.
Our university ranks 55 to 94 out of 94 Russian universities participating in the THE rating of universities by the goals of sustainable development.
Among 5 agrarian universities of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia Stavropol State Agrarian University takes the third place, giving way to K.A. Timiryazev Russian State Agrarian University and Novosibirsk State Agrarian University, ahead of N.I. Vavilov Saratov State Agrarian University and P.A. Stolypin Omsk State Agrarian University which together with K.A. Timiryazev University of Agriculture had experience of participation in THE University Impact Rankings since 2021.
According to the results of the rankings, the experts of Times Higher Education highlighted the outstanding experience and publication activity of Stavropol State Agrarian University in such UN SDGs as:
SDG 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities, combining best practices in the preservation of national, cultural traditions, the contribution of libraries and museums in the development of the regional community, the development of environmentally friendly and safe space in buildings, dormitories and adjacent areas to the university - this SDG received the maximum weight in the overall result of the university - 38.9 -53.3 points;
SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth with Best Practices in Implementation of the University Human Resources Policy - with maximum weight in the overall result of the university - 25.0 - 44.9 points;
SDG 15 - Life on Land with best practices for ecological land use, development of sustainable agriculture, conservation of regional ecosystem biodiversity and with a maximum weight in the overall result of the university - 31.1 - 42.9 points;
SDG 17 - Partnerships for Achievement with the best practices of the university to develop international cooperation on the UN Sustainable Development Goals - with the maximum weight in the overall result of the university - 1.6 - 41.4 points.
