Field experiments within the framework of the grant project "Priority 2030"

18.05.2022

As part of the implementation of the academic strategic leadership grant "Priority 2030", high-tech equipment was purchased, including a portable handheld spectroradiometer "PolyPen RP 410", which allows spectral analysis of the reflectivity of plant leaves in the field. Thanks to this portable system, scientists of the Stavropol State Agrarian University will receive much more information about the development of winter wheat plants and will be able to calculate a whole set of vegetation indices.

The evaluation of the work of the purchased equipment was carried out at the experimental farm in the conditions of scientific experience, laid down jointly with the partners of the university of LLC "Gold Fields". Spectral analysis and sampling of winter wheat to determine chlorophyll fixation was carried out by Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Nikolaevich Esaulko, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Elena Vyacheslavovna Pismennaya and 2nd year graduate student Yulia Nikolaevna Kuzminova. This operation will allow you to upload the data received in the field, thanks to the GPS system, process and give farmers up-to-date information about the condition of plants.

The team of scientists will continue to observe as winter wheat plants enter new phases of development in order to give an objective assessment of the effectiveness of the studied indices in the conditions of various soil and climatic zones of our region and district.
