XXII Russian exhibition of breeding sheep and goats in the city of Volgograd

Stavropol State Agrarian University at the XXII Russian exhibition of pedigree sheep and goats was represented by the head of the basic department of private animal husbandry, selection and breeding of animals, Professor Evgeny Nikolaevich Chernobay.

More than 70 leading sheep and goat breeding farms and agricultural producers of commercial livestock from 15 regions of the Russian Federation took part in the exhibition. The exhibition of breeding sheep and goats, held on the territory of the Volgograd State Agrarian University, provided for the presentation of outstanding animals with an assessment of their breeding qualities to determine the winners among agricultural organizations, in addition, it had a wide program with a scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the All-Russian Research Institute sheep and goat breeding, holding round tables and seminars.

Questions of the further fate of domestic sheep and goat breeding were raised at the conference. Speakers at the plenary session: Director of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Breeding of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Butusov Dmitry Vladimirovich, Chairman of the Board of Directors - President of the National Union of Sheep Breeders, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Kharon Adievich Amerkhanov, Acting Director of the Russian National Public Research Institute of livestock breeding, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Shichkin Gennady Ivanovich, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor of the RSAU named after K.A. Timiryazev Yuldashbaev Yusupzhan Artykovich. Their reports were devoted to the development of sheep breeding and the existing problems in this industry.

Stavropol State Agrarian University at this exhibition at the invitation of the General Director of the "National Union of Sheep Breeders" M.V. Egorov, represented by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Evgeniy Nikolaevich Chernobay.

As part of the cooperation between the basic department of private animal husbandry, selection and breeding of animals of the Stavropol State Agrarian University and the basic organization FSBSI "All-Russian Research Institute of Sheep and Goat Breeding" - a branch of the FSBSI "North Caucasian Federal Scientific Agrarian Center", Evgeny Nikolayevich, together with a leading employee of the department of sheep breeding, FSBSI "All-Russian Research Institute of Sheep and Goat Breeding" Efimova Nina Ivanovna, took part in a master class on classifying fine-fleeced wool sheep and grading of animals in accordance with the instructions of the FSBSI "All-Russian Research Institute of Sheep and Goat Breeding" for grading fine-fleeced and semi-fine-fleeced sheep for specialists and livestock workers.

At the exhibition, Evgeniy Nikolayevich discussed the development of sheep breeding not only with employees of the livestock departments of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Stavropol Territory, but also with specialists from the Volgograd and Astrakhan regions. In addition, with the chairman of the "Plemzavod Vtoraya Pyatiletka" of the Ipatovsky district Serdyukov Igor Gennadievich and the chairman of the collective farm "Rodina" of the Apanasenkovsky district Litvinov Sergey Vladimirovich outlined ways to implement the University Development Program "Agroinnopolis-2030", carried out within the framework of the program of strategic academic leadership "Priority -2030" on the formation of a database in the sheep breeding industry.
