A training scientific and practical seminar "International quality standards for scientific publications and journals in agriculture and related fields" began its work at Stavropol State Agrarian University. The training will take place over two days. The participants of the seminar were editors of publications issued by educational and research organizations, as well as authors of articles for them. The event is organized in a face-to-face format. For participants, advanced training is also provided under the program "Quality Management of Scientific Publications".
The workshop is hosted by the Association of Science Editors and Publishers (ANRI). For three days, six experts of this association will speak before its participants. Among them are ANRI President Olga Vladimirovna Kirillova, General Director of the publishing house "World of Science" and editor-in-chief of the journal "Scientific Periodicals: Problems and Solutions" Natalya Konstantinovna Alimova, editor-in-chief of the journal "International Agricultural Journal" Alexander Anatolyevich Fomin, executive director of the company "Antiplagiat" Yuri Viktorovich Chekhovich.
90 specialists from different cities of Russia take part in the seminar.
The program of the scientific-practical seminar also provides for a speech by a guest from distant India. Author of publications with over 30 years of academic experience, Yateendra Joshi is a board certified editor in life science journals. He will talk about how to prepare scientific articles for publication, correctly format quantitative data in manuscript tables, and prepare illustrations for texts.
At the opening of the seminar, guests and participants were welcomed by the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Doctor of Economics, Professor Alexei Nikolaevich Bobryshev.
On the first day, work was carried out within the framework of the block “State policy, national priorities and information resources in the scientific field”.
Two important topics were covered by Olga Vladimirovna Kirillova. The expert entered with reports: “The tasks of journals in Russian and English when preparing according to national and international standards” and “Changes in state scientific policy and national priorities in modern conditions. New projects for building a national system for evaluating the results of scientific activity. Journals on agriculture and related fields in the "White List" of journals”.
Alexander Anatolyevich Fomin opened the topic "Interaction of a scientific journal with representatives of the agricultural business, industry unions, scientific and educational organizations and government structures as an effective way to develop the journal and increase interest in publications in Russian journals."
After lunch the work was continued by Yateendra Joshi. A foreign guest shared his experience on how to win the game of publishing scientific articles and avoid publishing in unscrupulous journals.
The first day of the seminar ended with a speech by Natalya Konstantinovna Alimova. She made presentations: "The main legal acts and documents in the editorial and publishing process of preparing a Russian scientific journal" and "Preparing and submitting an application for a scientific journal to the List of the Higher Attestation Commission, making changes in accordance with the new Nomenclature of specialties and other changes in the journal."
After the presentations of all speakers, a small discussion of the current agenda of the seminar took place.
