SSAU scientists revealed a change in mood among village residents in Stavropol Territory

15.08.2022

SSAU completed a large-scale study of the standard of living in rural areas of Stavropol Territory. More than 3,000 rural residents and almost 300 experts were interviewed. The ultimate goal of the study is the formation of a model of socio-cultural development in rural areas and standards for the quality of life, as well as the creation of a digital profile of rural areas of the Stavropol Territory in terms of living standards.

Scientists of Stavropol State Agrarian University conducted sociological studies in the region on the standard of living of the villagers and their satisfaction in previous years, with the exception of two pandemic years. In 2022, thanks to the Priority 2030 grant received by the university, the scale of research has increased. The survey took place in all districts of the region without exception. Two target groups were surveyed - ordinary residents and heads of agricultural enterprises and municipal authorities.

“In the near future, our scientists will have to analyze a large amount of data. Regional deputies and the government are waiting for results from us. It is too early to draw final conclusions about how people live in the countryside. But it is already clear that, compared with previous studies, the mood of the villagers has changed a lot. If three or four years earlier most of the respondents expressed a desire to move to a large city, this year the majority said that they were satisfied with life in the countryside.” - announced the acting rector of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Professor Valentin Skripkin the interim results of the study.
