Participation of StSAU professor in the IX International Forum of Historians of the Caucasus, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the USSR

Cherkessk hosted the IX International Forum of Caucasian historians "Peoples of the Caucasus in XVIII-XXI centuries: history, politics, culture" dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the formation of the USSR. Forum is held by the Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, North-Caucasian and Southern Federal Universities, North-Caucasian State Academy and supported by the Ministry of Nationalities, Mass Communications and Press of the KCR, humanitarian foundation "Caucasus - New Horizons" and Regional Research Fund "Strana".

Albert Kumukov, Minister of Karachay-Cherkessia for Nationalities, Mass Communications and Press of the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia, addressed the forum participants with a welcoming speech. He noted that each forum, which has been held since 2012, becomes a bright event not only in the domestic, but also in the international scientific space.

About 100 scientists, professors and museum workers from various regions of Russia and foreign countries took part in the forum. Current problems of modern Caucasian studies, experience of nation-state building in the region, socio-economic, socio-political and demographic processes in the Caucasus, socio-cultural transformation and religious policy, geopolitical issues, armed conflicts in the North Caucasus and their consequences, as well as challenges and solutions vital for modern regional politics were on the agenda.

Professor of Stavropol State Agrarian University, Doctor of History Evgeny Vasilyevich Tufanov took part in the forum. He made a report titled "Personnel policy of the Soviet state in 1920-1930s (on the materials of the North Caucasus).
