21.10.2022

Scientist of Stavropol State Agrarian University of the basic department of private zootechnics, selection and breeding of animals, professor Sergey Oleynik was invited into the working group of the Eurasian Economic Commission, which deals with the introduction of standards for assessing the breeding value of animals in Russia and the EAEU countries.

"At a recent conference call with my participation, the introduction of international ICAR standards for assessing the breeding value of cattle in the EAEU member states was discussed in our country.

"According to these standards, each breeding animal should have a unique identification number in the form of a tag, brand or electronic chip, which allows you to track compliance of a particular animal with the requirements for milk productivity, milk quality and other parameters. This increases the reliability of accounting and improves the quality of raw milk," Sergei Oleinik explained the tasks of the working group created.

In addition to a scientist from the Stavropol State Agrarian University, the working group from the Russian Federation included employees of the department of agro-industrial policy of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, the Vice-Rector of the Novosibirsk State Agrarian University and experts from the Republics of Belarus and Kazakhstan.

"Our experience in organizing the system of selection control of milk quality at the recently held Agroindustrial exhibition "Golden Autumn" was recognized as advanced. Inclusion of a scientist of our university in the international commission, determining the standards of breeding animals and their introduction in the country is a confirmation of the recognition of the results of long-term work of StSAU scientists in the field of dairy cattle breeding, which are conducted since 2015.", - commented the inclusion of the university in such an authoritative group Acting Rector of StSAU Vladimir Sitnikov.
