SSAU students know how to make travel easier for tourists

16.11.2022

Students of the Faculty of Hospitality Business and Tourism of the Stavropol State Agrarian University took 2nd place among 140 participants at the "Mountain Echo" student tourism development forum, held in Pyatigorsk for the idea of a telegram-bot for the needs of travelers.

Participants from different regions of Russia gathered in the Pyatigorsk "Russian State Social University" to submit ideas for the competition in the field of tourism development.

The team of the Stavropol Agrarian Institute, led by Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Service Valentina Varivoda, presented the telegram-bot project “Where is it?”, which makes it easier for tourists to search for little-known objects in the resorts of the CMW. The idea is simple. The user enters a search word into the bot and receives all the information about the object: a photo, an approximate location, and a warning about the level of danger.

“We put in a lot of effort, but it was worth it. At the forum, we learned a lot of useful things and received positive emotions, - Aleksey Smirnov, a participant in the Mountain Echo forum, shared his impressions.

“The project of our guys aroused the interest of the jury members and received high support from them. The idea of creating a bot that would help guests of the Caucasian Mineral Waters get information about the object of interest with one touch is very relevant. Let's hope that it will find a real embodiment, - said the mentor of the guys, Associate Professor of the Department of Tourism and Service of SSAU Valentina Varivoda.
