On the eve of the Unknown Soldier Day, students tested their knowledge of the history of the Great Patriotic War

05.12.2022

SSAU hosted a test on the history of the Great Patriotic War as part of the traditional international campaign "Test on the history of the Great Patriotic War", which is conducted by the Youth Parliament under the State Duma.

Participants were asked to answer 40 questions covering various events during the war. The testing allowed the students to assess the level of their historical literacy and identify areas for further study of national history. The test was passed in all subjects of Russia and in more than 50 countries of the world.

– We invite everyone to take the test, not in order to give points and grades, but in order to learn something new, refresh their knowledge and interest participants in learning history. This year we have added questions with stories about the work in the rear and the heroism of soldiers, about the exploits of young people, teachers, women and doctors. We must know our history and honor the memory of those who defended the Motherland, as real Heroes are defending it now, - said Dmitry Shatunov, Chairman of the Youth Parliament under the State Duma.

– Our university has never been away from such memorable events. The event is primarily aimed at preserving the memory of the heroes who did not leave a trace of their name, did not leave a memory of themselves, but made a huge contribution to the great victory over fascism. History is cyclical, and today's events that take place in the world are reflected in the events that took place 70 years ago. Our task is to remember the great victory that provided us with a peaceful sky above our heads, and those heroes who crushed fascism - Evgeny Tufanov, Head of the Department of Philosophy and History, Doctor of History, Associate Professor.
