Stavropol State Agrarian University has become a strategic partner of the experimental station for poultry farming

An agreement on strategic cooperation and an agreement on practical training of students in the specialized organization for a 5-year term was concluded between the North Caucasus Regional Experimental Station on Poultry Farming and the Stavropol State Agrarian University. Corresponding agreements were secured in the framework of the seminar on domestic turkey breeding.

Students of biotechnology faculty attended scientific and educational seminar "Domestic turkey breeding in the SKZOSP" in the North Caucasus Zonal Experimental Poultry Farming Station - a branch of the Federal Scientific Center "All-Russian Research and Technological Institute of Poultry" of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The event was held for the purpose of forming professional competencies and employment after graduation in the framework of educational policy initiatives of the strategic program "Priority 2030". The technical organization of the trip was provided by Associate Professor Vladislav Zakotin.

Specialists of the enterprise, who participated in the seminar, are graduates of Stavropol Agricultural University. Director Alexei Sheplyakov spoke about the 55-year history of the scientific institution, its achievements, problems and objectives of activity. Senior researcher, chief zootechnician-breeder Nina Shcherbakova presented the characteristics of breeds and cross of turkeys of domestic selection. Senior researcher, chief zootechnician Kirill Baidikov in an interactive form reported on the evaluation of microclimate and feeding in the maintenance of breeding turkeys. Senior Veterinarian Yury Titov, research fellow, introduced the practice of veterinary prophylaxis of fattening turkeys.

Representatives of Russian State Agrarian University, in their turn, also shared their research experience. Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor Elena Epimakhova characterized biological and material losses in industrial and small poultry farming, which reduce the efficiency. Graduate student Ksenia Chervyakova told about the practice of evaluation of eggs and embryos at the university. The students were also given the opportunity to visit the zoovetlab and be present during the analysis of feed for turkeys.

As part of strategic cooperation, students of Stavropol State Agrarian University will be able to hold seminars with specialists of the company, as well as to undergo practical training with subsequent employment.
