Priority - scientific research for the environmental safety of the Stavropol Territory

The Public Council of the Ministry of Nature and Environmental Protection of the Stavropol Territory on May 19 adopted the concept of the foundation of the Scientific and Technical Council, initiated by Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology and Landscape Construction of the State Agrarian University Yu.A. Mandra.

On the agenda of the next meeting of the Public Council was the discussion of the report on the implementation of the event plan of the Government of the Stavropol Territory on realization of the proposals of the regional branch of the All-Russian Public Movement "National Front for Russia" in the Stavropol Territory in 2017. They concerned the conservation and rational use of natural potential, unique healing and health-improving properties of the specially protected ecological and resort region of the Caucasian Mineral Waters. The discussion on this issue was extremely lively, but all participants of the event were aimed at solving the set tasks and developing the potential of the public in implementing significant areas of environmental management and environmental protection in the region.

Also during the meeting, the concept of the creation of the Scientific and Technical Council under the Ministry of Natural Resources of the region was discussed and adopted, it was initiated by Julia Mandra.

It is assumed that the main tasks of the established structure will be consideration of proposals on priority areas of scientific research, which are the basis for developing policy and regulatory and legal regulation in the sphere of ensuring environmental safety of the Stavropol Territory. The Council will consider and prepare grounded proposals for the implementation of the results of scientific research and development in the field of environmental protection, rational nature management, conservation of biological diversity. Members of the Council will be engaged in expert assessment of advanced technologies, introduction of which will contribute to increasing the environmental component of the modernization potential of the regional economy, enhancing the environmental security of the region.
