The landscape design of Stavropol State Agrarian University has surpassed the green decoration of all institutions of this district of the city and for the sixth time brought the victory to the university in the traditional competition.
"The best territory adjacent to the enterprise or institution" is a competition annually announced by the administration of the Leninsky district of the city of Stavropol. It fully allows you to demonstrate the talents of the students of SSAU - future masters of urban landscape design and their mentors. After all, all the 13 750 square meters of the most beautiful planted lawns and flower beds they create with their own hands, supporting this amazing beauty in accordance with the time of the year.
To create green "oases" in the urban environment, Stavropol SAU has its own production base of planting material. In the greenhouses and greenhouses of the Agrarian University, more than 300,000 copies of flowers are grown every year, in the kennel of ornamental crops of the educational and experimental farm - tree and shrub plantations.
On the territory of the University itself, you can see not only more than 40 species of coniferous plants (pine, juniper, etc.), but also very southern agaves and yuccas that come from Mexico. Two years ago, in the territory of the main educational building, at the intersection of Mira Street and Zootechnical Lane, as well as near veterinary clinics, the greenhouse complex (Serova Street, 523), the training and experimental facilities, the students landed 1168 lindens, maples, mountain ash, poplars Chinese, Catalpa. On 8 thousand square meters of flower beds about 80 thousand begonias, ageratum, cineraria, tagetis, pelargonium, salvia, hippoestas, dahlias, lobelia are adorned. More than 300 petunias decorate the flower beds of the Institute of Economics and Finance. Lawns also decorate more than 700 ornamental shrubs: hibiscus, forsythia, boxwood, aura aureus, paper spiraea, vangut spiraea. A garden has cherries, pears, apple trees.
Every year the territory of an agrarian higher educational establishment becomes more and more beautiful, because the spaces for creative work for young masters of green splendor keep going!
