Victory and Russian record!
On March 17-19, the XXII Russian Open Weightlifting Championship was held in Moscow in the older age groups (from 30 years and older), in which 269 athletes participated in the training of the SSAU N. Mukhortova.
All-Russian championship, organized by the Federation of Russian Weightlifting Veterans and the FIT-League "Heraklion", started at the capital stadium "Salute Heraklion". It was conducted with the aim of popularizing and developing sport, the continuity of the age generation among those engaged in weightlifting, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and longevity. The main objective of such competitions is to encourage sports at any age and support the spirit of camaraderie among the participants. Nevertheless sports component is also essential. The championship traditionally gathers titled Russian weightlifters of different years who show high results and strive for new personal and national achievements.
This year the winner in the weight category up to 69 kilograms was the teacher of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of Stavropol State Agrarian University Nina Mukhortova. The trainer of the highest category, the repeated winner of sports competitions of various levels, N. Mukhortova also won the III place in the absolute championship, setting a new record for Russia in press and push!
Note that this championship was the qualifier for the European Championship, which will be held in August 2017. The strongest will go to confirm their high status in the Swedish city Halmstad.
